Hi, I'm Sarah
In the winter of 1997, my husband and I started out on our long journey toward having a family. Little did we know the twists and turns our journey would take. Through infertility meds, tubal pregnancy, and miscarriage, we questioned God's plan for our lives.
I learned that God doesn't close doors to open windows so much as smash the whole place to smithereens to make way for new dreams, His dreams for us. That is my story. After years of chronic grief that followed me around like a heavy black cloud, I said yes to a new idea of family. Our children joined us first through domestic adoption and later through gestational surrogacy.
Would you belive me if I told you that you are not alone? That God cares even more about the child you are waiting for than you do? I wrote a little book called Life After Infertility: A Story of Hope for Those Who Wait that is in the editing process right now. My deepest desire is that you will count me as friend in your struggle as you hold my story in your hands and read the truth in its pages.
I am a high school teacher, mom of three, chocoholic, aspiring author, and faithful follower of Jesus who is not afraid to go toe to toe with him with hard questions.
Thanks for stopping by. And a reminder for the hurting hearts out there: You are not alone.
